After looking for months at different brands of hardwood we settled on Mirage- for the product, wood and color, and finish. After years of wall to wall carpeting we needed a change. ![]() I'm not an expert in wood flooring, but I know what I like. If it were any good it wouldn't have so many terrible reviews! I certainly never thought I would have to be cleaning between the hard wood boards to pick out dirt. just bad and I regret it every time I look at it or walk on it. the floor boards don't meet snuggly in many spots, you can feel the ridges where the boards meet, it is hard to keep clean, dents easily. It is down now, and besides the contractor leaving far too many dings and dents in the wood, the gaps are terrible and with sock feet you feel the boards - this is one thing the floor expert had warned me about and asked me - was I ok with feeling where the boards meet - at the time I thought how bad could it be? Well, it's bad. I was out of time and had to go with the wood I had. I had a painfully slow contractor, who was so slow, he left no room for error or mishap when it came to the other areas of the project. The salesman said I could certainly send the wood back but there were no guarantees that I wouldn't get the same such product. The expert said he would classify the wood I had as "B grade flooring". on this day I had the dealer from where I bought the wood and a wood floor installation expert in to check things out. When the installation began things did not look good. I wanted that and though5 I was going to get it. A family installed Mirage Maple flooring years ago and it was beautiful. Like some of the other reviewers I had wall to wall carpet.
